Working Barge
This is a photo of the lock keepers cottage on Wheelock canal, with a working barge in the foreground. The canal itself is no longer used for commercial purposes, so the cottage is now privately owned. At one time, it would have been a full time job to keep the canal traffic moving through the series of locks that exist along the length of the Wheelock canal.
