Suzuki Motorbikes in HDR with a TOPAZ twist

These are a couple of Suzuki motorbikes, shot in the pit garage at Oulton Park on the 1st November. The photo was taken towards the end of the afternoon when the light was starting to fade, which really helps the colours come out.

The processing for this shot was a mix of HDR and TOPAZ – initially the 9 exposures were merged together in Photoshop to generate the HDR image. No alignment was needed as I took the shots with the camera tripod mounted and a remote shutter release.

Once the HDR file had been created, it was put through Photomatix to tonemap and then imported back onto Photoshop were the Topaz filter was applied. If you are wondering why I double process the images, the reason is that I prefer the natural look Photomatix can generate without haloing, and the Topaz filter can then create the more surreal look without degrading the image quality.
